The center then and now...  First just a word about “presupositions” and names; I remember the bace as it was when I was there, the years 1984 to 1987. And thus it is natural for me to name the houses by the famililes who lived in them at the time. OK, so if you lived there in an other time period all together, the names and houses are not going to mach! My aim is to have a big map as the last page of this site, where I indicate with arows the diection of view of each picture. I plan to make the map “klickable” so you can get up the pictures ther.  That is the plan….  If it is not ther yet, it’s because I am not done yet!  :-) Sorry, but I can’t explain it all! I do not have the knowledge, nor the space to explain every single change. But I hope to give you a taste and overview. If you look closely, you see that some of the roads that were there before are no longer used, and some have changed path all together. For instance if you come driving from “the car shed”, towards the Kingsley’s house, the road used to take a right to continue towards the track and past the Deming’s house. Now that road goes straight! As far as I could tell Deming’s house is gone! At least I could not find it. This creates more space between the road and what used to be the airstrip. New buildings are coming up there. One of them is a new dining-hall. The old lake front dining-hall is still there, but looking really old and run- down! Surprisingly the stairs down to the lake, where we used to walk down to go swimming, is no longer used. Or maybe not even there, because I could not find it. It is all grown over. From the lake side the cement going out to the lake is visible as a small clear area in the middle of the under- brush. I observed that people going to the lake to wash or swim, did so by using the lakeside front of what used to be the hangar.
