Walking up from the hangar towards the dining hall.  We left the hangar and walked up towards the dining-hall and the post office, on the road that goes along the lake. As we walked up the hill, I kept looking out for the place where we used to park our bikes when we went swimming. There was no sign of the parking, nor the stairs that went down to the lake. Finally we were at the top of the hill, and I realized that the whole thing was gone! An other new item was the large blue water- tower at the top of the hill, on the right. We kept to the left and continued on the road that goes along the shore-ridge. To our left we had the lake, and on the right we walked by the dining-hall, and what I assume was Quintarosa, etc. Then we passed several houses that I really did not recognize. The vegetation has changed, and there are small tracks everywhere! All this, together with the fact that it has been around 30 years since the last time I saw the place, made it difficult to point out who lived where. Before I knew it we were facing the dividing brick wall, and could not go any further. I was thinking of Gesh-house, Moore, Scott, etc.  In retrospect I regret not taking pictures of all the houses, and letting you find your own house! But I did not. Sorry! There is a rather large new building in this area. It looked like a dorm for the students. You can see it on the map to the right. On the map it is located on the upper left.
One of the first houses on the top of the road coming from the hangar. I do not remember what it was used for. Quintarosa? The view from the rad out over the lake is just as beautiful as it was before.
Quitarosa?
The dining-hall and post office.  We walked back along the lake-shore to see the dining-hall and the post office. It was fun to see those two buildings again! It looked like the dining-hall is now used as a…  dining-hall….  :-) It was really run down and old!  No wonder really! It is an old building, and people have walked in and out of it for over half a century. UNIA is now building a new dining-hall in the direction of the track, close by what used to be the airstrip. Regarding the post-office, it was still there, and looking in a little better shape than the dining-hall. I am not sure what it is used for now.  Below is a 180 degree swipe of this area.  At the very right in the picture is the post-office. Then towards the left comes the dining-hall. Students are already getting in line for food. The centre of the picture is looking towards the lake. Slightly to the left of centre, is the gray old little building that used to house the water purifying for the ILV potable water. Finally towards the left in the picture is the walkway that leads towards the road.  NOTICE!  By clicking the four little arrows on the very right side of the expanded pictures, you can get an even bigger picture! OK… So you are looking at my web page using a mobile device?   Well, that is perfectly fine. BUT, my intentions with this web site was to share what I saw through pictures. Click-able pictures and icons that open up large pictures. So with your tiny little thing, you are really not going to see nothing! Sorry! Please fire up your home / office computer, and visit my page again.  It will be very different. Below, as a teaser, I show some of the pictures that you can see in “real size” on the desktop version.  TNX’s
